Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange closed negative on Tuesday, as the All Share Index declined 0.08 percent from 33,196.07 points on Monday to close at 33,167.88 points.

Market capitalization dipped by 0.08 percent closing at N12.109 trillion as against the N12.119 trillion grossed on Monday, shedding about N10 billion.

However, both the volume and value of traded stocks grew above 100 percent each to arrive at 309 million units and N5.9 billion respectively.

At the close of trading for the day, 17 stocks closed positive against 24 that lost bringing the market breadth to a negative round off.

As a result, Presco led other gainers closing at 9.43 percent above the previous close of N53 to settle at N58. This is followed by STANBIC OBTC Bank, Diamond Bank and Livestock which grew 7.14 percent, 6.92 percent and 5.77 percent in that order.

Conversely, Meyer topped the losers’ chart losing 9.68 percent of its share price, while Dangote Flour and Regency Alliance shed 9.52 percent and 9.09 percent respectively.
Guaranty traded the highest volume of about 57 million units of its shares in 199 deals, valued at about N2.1 billion.
