Trading on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Monday commenced on depressive note with the benchmark indices of the All-Share Index (ASI) and market capitalization dropping by 0.32 percent.

At the end of the trading session, the ASI stood at 35,311.36 while the capitalization ebbed to N12.90 trillion.

Dangote Cement led on the price losers’ table with N5 or 2.13 per cent to close at N230 per share.

Unilever trailed with N1.5 or 2.86 per cent to close at N51 per share, UACN dipped N4.76 per cent to close at N12 per share, while Glaxosmithkline share price crashed to N15 having shed three kobo representing 1.96 per cent reduction.

Ikeja Hotel came last in the top five ranking. From the opening value of N2.79, it closed at N2.79 per share.

Despite the losses recorded at the close of trading today, Total came first on the gainers’ table with N3.4 or 1.91 percent value addition.

Flourmill recorded N2.1 or 9.99 percent growth in its share price, West Africa Portland Cement (WAPCO) was up 75 kobo or 2.86 percent to close at N27 per share, while Nigerian Breweries added five kobo or 0.50 percent to close at N100.5 per share.

Guaranty Trust Bank recorded the lowest price gain today. The lender recorded five kobo or 1.33 percent to close at N38 per share.

In all, investors bought and sold 178.89 million shares valued at N2.20 million exchanged in 2,981 deals.
