Trading activities on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Monday, closed negative as the All Share Index declined by 0.27 percent to close at 32,451.27 points, down from last Friday’s 32,540.17 points.
Impliedly, the market capitalisation also dropped to N11.847 trillion from the previous trading value of N11.858 trillion.
This is even as the volume and value of traded stocks declined by 63.59 percent and 68.75 percent, closing at 190.57 million units and N3.31 billion respectively while stock market price moment chart showed that 13 stocks gained compared to 23 losers.
At the close of trading for the day, Niger Insurance led other percentage gainers, gaining 9.68 percent to close at N0.34 from the previous close of N0.31 per share.
LASACO and Unilever grew 6.45 percent and 4.65 percent respectively ahead other stocks on the gainers’ list.
Conversely, Livestock Feeds tops the losers’ chart losing 9.52 percent of its share price to close at N0.57 from the previous close of N0.63 per share.
Union Bank and Law Union & Rock Insurance shed 9.48 percent and 9.09 percent respectively among others on the losers’ chart.
Guaranty Trust Bank traded about 66.99 million units of its shares in 155 deals, valued at about N2.35billion as the most traded stock.
