According to him, the technology hub will provide an enabling environment for facilitating and supporting the development of a technology cluster and ecosystem within the Yaba District of Lagos.

Fahm expressed optimism that the techno-ecosystem hub would contribute significantly to the nation’s economic development and position Lagos State as Nigeria’s hub for innovation.

In addition, the state government desires to use the centre to make the state a preferred destination for technology investors and innovators.

By its design, the project will give recommendations to the state government on eight critical areas to foster an enabling environment for innovation and entrepreneurship in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

The areas include Access to Funding; Access to Market & Demand; Infrastructure; Policy Regulation & Governance; Talent, Skills & Education; and Research & Development; Network & Collaboration; and Advocacy & Marketing.

To achieve the project’s objectives which include the setting up of a world class ICT Park, the state government has acquired 30,000 square metres of land in the Yaba area of the state.
