NNPC warns public on fake recruitment adverts

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has warned the public against falling prey to fraudsters who have placed a recruitment advertisement purportedly from the cooperation.

The recruitment advertisement is trending on social media.

The warning was given in a statement by NNPC Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs, Mr Ndu Ughamadu, in a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday.

“The advertisement, set in NNPC’s corporate colour with its logo and a corporate picture, sets candidates’ entry requirements to include Master’s degree, Bachelor’s degree, Higher National Diploma (HND) and National Diploma, is fake.

“The recruitment announcement or invitation to recruitment interview of this nature appearing intermittently in the social media should be discountenanced,’’ the statement reads in part.

NNPC said it was not carrying out any recruitment exercise now, saying it had nothing to do with the fake e-mail address to which unsuspecting prospects were asked to direct their Curriculum Vitae in the fake advertisement.

The corporation said it would announce vacant positions at the appropriate time through national dailies.

NNPC called on anyone who had fallen prey to the antics of the fraudsters to report to security agencies.
