Barely few hours after arresting the lawmaker representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Dino Melaye, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, the Police has released him.

The lawmaker was arrested early today on his way to Morocco when the police stalled the journey.

The lawmaker confirmed, through a post on his social media accounts, that the police arrested him at the airport.

He wrote: “I have just been arrested at the international wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe airport on my way to Morocco for an official engagement sponsored by the Federal Government after checking in.”

Latest news indicates that the lawmaker had been released.
