Trading activities on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange on Tuesday were upbeat as the All Share Index (ASI) grew by 0.28 percent, after four straight sessions of losses to close at 34,933.68 points against the previous day’s 34,837.50 closing points.
The market capitalization appreciated by 0.28 percent to settle at N12.753 trillion in contrast to N12.718 trillion of the last trading session, adding a total of N35 billion at the close of today’s trading.
Volume and value of traded stocks also grew by 82.82 percent and 15.16 percent to stand at 240.4 million units and N3.6 billion respectively.
The day’s trading activities produced 23 gainers against 18 losers.
AIICO Insurance led the gainers’ table, closing 10.00 percent above the previous close of N0.90 to settle at N0.99 per share.
JAIZBANK, C&I Leasing and Diamond Bank gained 8.89 percent, 8.80 percent and 8.70 percent respectively ahead of other stocks that made it to the green.
Universal Insurance, PZ Cussons and FIDSON, all jointly top the losers’ chart losing 10.00 percent each of their share prices, while TRIPPLEG and Guinea Insurance shed 9.41 percent and 8.57 percent respectively.
